Dear Sir or Madam:
Speedtech Instruments, as a premier supplier of
portable electronics and wireless weather stations, carries a
comprehensive range of items designed for the outdoor sector and
weather enthusiasts. As a free flight club, we would like to
introduce our newest product, the porosimeter, manufactured by JDC
Electronic S.A., in Switzerland, as well as familiarize you with our
windmeters and weather stations.
The porosimeter MK1 is an easy-to-use,
reliable, and very precise porosimeter, which was developed by JDC
Electronic, following a high demand from free flight lovers, mainly
for security purposes. This instrument very quickly became the
standard in porosity measurement and is now used and appreciated
worldwide. We are including the document, Three Steps For Canopy
Maintenance, developed by the nonprofit Parafoils Standards
Institute of America that is based on the use of the MK1 porosimeter.
Purpose of Porosimeter MK1:
Enables a precise amount of air volume to go
through a piece of cloth in order to measure its porosity.
Principle: To measure the time necessary for 0.25 liter of airs
under 4hPa pressure to go through 40 cm2 of cloth.
Application:
1. Quick test of cloth porosity used, for
example, in paraglider, spinnaker & balloon manufacture.
2. Measure cloth degradation in order to warn
users of properties and security decrease of its canopy.
3. Evaluation of the present and resale value
of second-hand paragliders.
4. Laboratory studies of cloth wear (coating
adherence, etc.).
